# Coliving for couples in Spain: space to live and work

A practical guide to coliving in Spain as a couple: private rooms or cabins, shared coworking, costs for two and planning simultaneous calls.

Coliving works well for couples when you have a private place to sleep and enough shared space to work and meet other people. At Hamlet's Friends, you stay together in a private Molino room or cabin. The coworking space and social areas are shared with other guests. That gives you a door to close at the end of the day without cutting you off from the rest of the house.

We are in Nuño Gómez, a small village in rural Castilla-La Mancha, about 110 km from Madrid. Life here is quiet. It suits couples who want steady workdays, slower evenings and some company without a fixed social calendar. If you want busy streets, shops open late and a different event every night, a city coliving will probably suit you better.

## Start with the space you need as a couple

Sharing a trip does not mean sharing every hour. The first question is where each of you will sleep, take calls and spend time alone. A Molino room gives you a private bedroom and bathroom in a building with other guest rooms. You share the kitchen and common room. This option keeps you close to everyday life in the house and makes an unplanned conversation over coffee easy.

A cabin gives you more room of your own. Each cabin has a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, living room and terrace. You can make breakfast in your own kitchen and eat outside, or read in the living room while your partner finishes work. You still have access to the coworking space and communal areas, so choosing a cabin does not cut you off from the community.

Neither choice creates two private offices. The Molino rooms and cabins are accommodation, and we do not describe them as soundproof. If both of you spend much of the day on calls, the layout of the coworking space and your actual meeting times matter more than a list of room features. Send us a typical day before you book. We can explain the current setup and help you judge which accommodation makes sense.

## Plan for two simultaneous workdays

Our coworking space is in the village's former golf clubhouse, separate from the accommodation. It has 200 m² of desks, meeting rooms and places for video calls. Coworking is included for lodging guests. You can both set up there in the morning, move to different areas for calls and meet again for lunch instead of trying to turn one bedroom into a two-person office.

Two independent 600 Mbps fibre lines serve the coworking space and the cabins. If your meetings overlap for several hours, or either of you handles confidential conversations, send us your usual call schedule before booking. We can tell you which areas are available and help you plan where each person can work.

Bring the equipment that already makes your workday comfortable, including headsets and any adapters you rely on. On arrival, test both laptops, your calling software and the places where you expect to work. If your teams are in different countries, check the relevant time differences for your dates rather than assuming the same hours apply across Europe.

## What does coliving cost for two?

The room and cabin starting rates on our website are for one guest. A stay for two has a different total, so those figures are not a couple's accommodation budget. Select two guests and your dates in the booking system to see the price for the room or cabin you want. Check the bed configuration there too.

## Leave room for two different routines

A couple can arrive together and still want different things from coliving. One of you may enjoy a long dinner while the other wants a quiet evening. One may take a walk before breakfast, while the other starts work early. We think a good stay leaves room for both. Shared meals and conversations happen because people are around, with no need to plan every evening before you arrive.

Talk before the trip about how much time you expect to spend together. Decide whether lunch is your regular meeting point and how you will handle an evening when one person wants company and the other does not. A cabin makes separation easier. In a Molino room, the common room, kitchen, garden and coworking space give you places to move between during the day.

Community here is informal. You might cook with other guests, sit at the long table or join a barbecue when one happens. You can also make dinner for two and close your door. The social side depends on who is staying at the same time and what people feel like doing. That mix of company and independence is the point.

## Try one normal work week first

If this is your first workation together, begin with one normal work week. Keep the meetings, deadlines and routines you would have at home. A holiday week tells you whether you like the village, but it says little about whether the setup works at ten on a Tuesday morning when both calendars are full. Include a weekend if you want time to explore after you have tested the working days.

Before booking, compare both calendars. Mark overlapping calls, long workshops and any task that needs silence. Then choose the accommodation based on that real week. A private cabin offers more separation after work, but it does not replace planning when both people need to speak at the same time. The coworking space gives you more options, and an honest schedule gives us something useful to answer.

## Arrive from Madrid and plan the final leg

Nuño Gómez is roughly 110 km from Madrid, or about one hour and fifteen minutes by car when traffic is moving. Without a car, travel to Talavera de la Reina by train or bus and arrange the final road transfer and its cost with us in advance. Do this before buying a tight connection, since the practical option depends on your arrival time.

You can walk around the village and into the nearby countryside. A car gives you more freedom for groceries, day trips and places farther away. You can still have a good stay without one if most of your week revolves around work and village life, but plan bigger outings rather than expecting frequent local public transport.

## Is rural coliving right for both of you?

The useful word here is both. A quiet village is a poor compromise if one person sees peace and the other sees isolation. Before you book, each of you should answer the same questions. Do you want evenings with fewer choices? Are you comfortable meeting the same small group of people? Will shared facilities feel sociable or tiring after a full day of work?

For couples who want a calmer rhythm, private accommodation and a place to meet others without arranging every encounter, the combination works well. You can spend the workday in the coworking space, take a walk together, join the table for dinner and retreat when you have had enough company. There is space for a shared trip and for two separate working lives.

## Frequently asked questions

**Are couples welcome at Hamlet's Friends?**

Yes. Couples can book a private Molino room or a private cabin, subject to the accommodation's occupancy. Tell us you are travelling together and check the live booking details for the bed configuration before confirming.

**Do rooms and cabins have a private bathroom and kitchen?**

Both accommodation types have a private bathroom. Molino room guests use the shared kitchen. Cabins have their own kitchenette as well as access to the communal facilities. Check the individual unit details when you book, since layouts and capacity vary.

**Can both of us use the coworking space?**

Yes. Coworking is included for lodging guests, so both guests can use it. If you have overlapping calls, send us your schedule before booking and we can explain which work areas are available.

**Do the published starting prices cover both of us?**

No. The room and cabin starting rates on our website are for one guest. Select two guests and your dates on the booking page to see the total for your stay. Meals, travel and optional extras are separate.

**Is there a minimum stay?**

There is no general minimum stay. For a first workation as a couple, we suggest one normal work week because it lets you test the setup under real working conditions. Check current availability and booking conditions for your dates.

**Do we need a car?**

No, but a car gives you more freedom for shopping and trips beyond the village. Without one, travel through Talavera de la Reina and agree the final transfer and its cost with us before you arrive.
