Yoga retreats near Madrid: the Sierra de San Vicente
By Niko · Head of Making Cool Stuff
A yoga retreat venue an hour from Madrid, in the Sierra de San Vicente: one group at a time, an indoor practice room, cabins, a chef who adapts.
We take one group at a time. The property is 110 km from Madrid, about 1h15 by car. You get a bright indoor room for practice, lawns under the oaks when the weather allows, a private cabin or room per participant, and a chef who cooks vegetarian, vegan and low-stimulant menus. Groups are usually 10–20.
Asana can be practised almost anywhere. What you are really paying for when you book a venue is everything around the mat: how quiet it is at dawn, how the light falls, what arrives at the table for lunch, how far participants feel from their inbox. Nuño Gómez, in the Sierra de San Vicente, is better at all of that than its complete absence of reputation would suggest.

The setting: quiet enough to teach outdoors
The Sierra de San Vicente is a small massif of granite, holm oak and open sky. Unlike the Guadarrama, it does not fill up at weekends, so an outdoor class is not competing with car doors and trail runners. The light helps too. Through spring and autumn it stays usable late into the afternoon, which anyone who has tried to teach into a low coastal sun will appreciate.
The right distance from Madrid
An hour and a bit along the A-5. Close enough that nobody takes a day off to travel, far enough that the phone stops feeling urgent. For a weekend or a five-day retreat that is the distance that sells: people who would never book a flight for four nights will drive down after work on a Friday.
The practice space, indoors and out
The coworking room is 200 m², and we clear it for practice when the weather says indoors or when you want walls around a meditation, pranayama or yin session. Outside, it is the garden and the lawn by the hammocks, which works from spring through summer. Between sessions everyone has their own cabin or room to disappear into. On an intensive schedule that is what decides whether people are still present on day three or merely upright.
Who cooks, and what
We do, at El Molino, our restaurant in the village. The chef builds the menu around your programme: vegetarian, vegan, low on stimulants, local produce cooked that morning. Timing counts as much as the food. A heavy mid-afternoon lunch will flatten the session after it, so we fix the meal times with you before anyone arrives.
Full buyout, or sharing the house
At 10 to 20 people you can take the whole property for the length of the retreat: every cabin and room, the coworking, the garden, the kitchen, and nobody else checking in halfway through. Below that number the coliving keeps running around you. The other guests are remote workers and people who came here for the quiet, so they stay out of the way, and now and then one of them asks to join a session.
What to send us
Send us three things: your dates, roughly how many people, and the shape of the retreat. Weekend or five days, practice only or with workshops attached. We come back with availability, an El Molino menu and a plan for which space goes where.
How to plan a company retreat near Madrid: budget and agendaSee our event and retreat venueRemote work near MadridFrequently asked questions
- How many participants can a retreat have?
- Usually 10–20 on a full buyout, which is one bed per person and no doubling up. Smaller groups share the property with the coliving guests instead.
- Where does the practice happen?
- In the indoor room when the weather says so, on the lawns under the oaks when it does not, and on the covered porch when it cannot decide.
- Can you cater for special diets?
- Yes. The chef at El Molino builds vegetarian, vegan and low-stimulant menus around your programme. Tell us about allergies when you book, not on the first morning.
- How far is it from Madrid?
- 110 km, about 1h15 down the A-5. Barajas airport is roughly the same, which helps when half the group is flying in.
